The return of the two Houses of Israel from

their captivity, and out of the house of bondage.

“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mt. 4:18,19)

Dagim is represented by the 10th letter of the

Hebrew alphabet and has a value of 10.

In the letter Yud we have a representation of a stretched out hand, which can imply to recover or receive something. To work, heal, worship, or praise. Yud is the smallest letter of the Hebrew alphabet which can imply meekness or humility, and has a value of 10. The number 10 relating to the recovery of the lost sheep of the House of Israel consisting of 10 tribes which Christ said he came to call.

My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.” (Jer. 50:6)

But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Mt. 15:24)

Within the constellation of Pisces is the right foreleg of Aries outstretched over the Bands attached to the tail of the two fish.

We have now travelled halfway around the circle of the Mazzaroth to Dagim, “the Fish” (Pisces) which marks the end of the Old Testament era and the beginning of the New. In the first six signs beginning in Bethulah, “the Virgin” (Virgo) we saw the seed of Abraham grow into a “multitude, even as the stars of heaven” in the land of Egypt. In Moznayim, “the Balances” (Libra) Egypt was judged,God’s people redeemed and brought to Mt. Sinai to receive the law. In Aqrab, “the Scorpion” (Scorpio) the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness with “scorpions and serpents” for refusing to take possession of the land of Canaan. In Keshet, “the Archer” (Sagittarius) the children of Israel under Joshua take possession of the Promise Land. In Gedi, “the Wild Goat” (Capricorn) the story of David and Saul’s pursuit of him at Engedi is told. In Deli, “the Water Bucket” (Aquarius) God’s judgment is poured out on the Southern kingdom of Judah as they are taken captive in Babylon.

Moses had warned the children of Israel: “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD...Then the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known—wood and stone.” (Dt. 28:58, 64)

We now come the sign of Pisces, (the fish). It’s Hebrew name Dagim means: “To move rapidly, to grow, multiply, to become numerous.” In the opposing sign of Pisces which is Virgo, the promise given to Abraham was:

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.” (Gen. 22:17)

This idea of “fruitfulness” was signified in the sign of Virgo by the sheaf of wheat in her left hand containing seed, i.e., “the seed of the woman.

the zodiac sign of virgo

The glyph for Virgo is the letter M with a “fish” attached to it, corresponding to the fish in Pisces, both signifying the seed of Abraham.

The letter M most likely then refers to the intimate connection of the Messiah with his people Israel and the multitudes that followed him wherever he went.

“And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.” (Matthew 4:25)

Here we see the letter “M” again representing Scorpio with a projection of a piercing arrow. These two signs are related, both refer to the Messiah.

The Messiah’s birth signified in the sign of Virgo, and the piercing and death of the Messiah signified in the Sign of Scorpio.

Back to our story concerning Pisces. We see that fish are a most appropriate symbol to represent the seed of Abraham in Virgo and of the multitudes that followed and gathered round about the Messiah in the sign of Pisces.

It’s interesting to note that to the Jewish people, fish are a sign of blessing and fruitfulness. As fish live in water, so the Jewish people thrive when immersed in the Torah (the 5 Books of Moses) that is compared to life-giving water. It was from Mt. Sinai where the law was spoken, that flowed a brook of water. (See Dt. 9:21).

It was at the water gate where all the people assembled themselves together to hear Ezra the scribe read from the book of the law of Moses, from morning to midday. The Levites “caused them to understand the reading.” (See Neh. 8:1-3, 8). It just so happens that Levi is the tribe that corresponds with the sign of Pisces.

In Christian tradition an acrostic was made from the Greek word for fish, “ichthys” as early as the first century which is, “Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter,” meaning: Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior.

In both the Old and the New Testament God’s people are likened to “fish.” Referring to the scattering of the House of Israel into Assyria, the LORD said unto Jeremiah:

Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.” (Jer. 16:16)

In the New Testament this prophecy met a most wonderful and striking fulfillment in the calling of the first two disciples, Peter and Andrew, who were “fishers.”

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mt. 4:18-19)

Another indication tying together the seed of Abraham in Virgo with the fish in Pisces, is the glyph for Virgo which is the letter M with a fish symbol attached to the end of the letter.

In the sign of Pisces we have a clear representation of the children of Israel in the land of their captivity as can be seen by this overlay of the constellation Dagim with the map of the Middle East showing the location of their captivity.

Taken from the book

Mystery of the Mazzaroth” by Tim Warner

In the book of Jeremiah we read:

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.” (Jer. 50:33)

“Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.” (Jer. 31:10)

In the sign of Pisces is represented the gathering of the tribes of Israel together again by He who had previously scattered them.

Attached to the tail of the fish are “Bands”, with the two ends meeting in a knot on the neck of Cetus, the Sea Monster. Its place is marked by the star, Al Risha, which in Arabic means, “the cords.” Across the Bands is the foreleg of Aries, the Ram.

In Pisces the captives are set free and the remnant of the children of Israel begin to grow into a “multitude” as the seed of Abraham did the opposing sign of Virgo.

The setting free of the captives of the two houses of Israel first began with the decree from Cyrus, King of Persia.

I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts.” ( Isa. 45:13)

This would include ALL of the captives in both Babylon and in Assyria and wherever else the 10 northern tribes were scattered abroad to. Tim Warner in his book “Mystery of the Mazzaroth” points out the following stunning revelation concerning the recovering of all 12 tribes to the land of Canaan:

Many claim that the northern tribes are lost tribes and that they have never returned to the land of Israel. While it is true that many of those in the Assyrian captivity were assimilated and never returned, many did return. When the Babylonians defeated the Assyrians prior to the captivity of Judah, the Babylonians gained control over the Assyrian territory, Samaria, and the northern captives in a Syria. When the Persians overthrew the Babylonians, they inherited the When the Persians overthrew the Babylonians, they inherited the captives of the Israel and Judah from both of Syria and Babylon. When Cyrus the Persian authorized the return of the captives to Israel to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple, his decree included all Israelites regardless of tribe. Scripture provides ample evidence that substantial segments of all 12 tribes returned from the captivity.” (Pg. 109)

Here is some of that “ample evidence” from Scripture that give evidence that all 12 tribes were present back in the land of Israel when the Messiah walked among them:

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Jer. 31:31-33)

The New Covenant was made with ALL 12 tribes of Israel. As Tim Warner points out, this requires the participants from from both the House of Israel and the House of Judah to be present.

At the beginning of his ministry when Yeshua returned to Nazareth where he had been brought up, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day and stood up to read from the book of Isaiah saying:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised…To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” (Lk. 4:18,21)

This is the message of Pisces, “the deliverance of the captives” as evidenced by the position of the two fish in the land of their captivity. The minor constellation Andromeda, the chained woman further bares this truth out her status as she is being held captive being bound with chains.

a black and white drawing of a man flying in the sky

Andromeda, the Chained Woman

This is the same woman in Virgo, it is the Virgin daughter of Zion being held captive. In the following sign of Aries she is represented as Cassiopeia, “the freed woman.” Thus, you have the “bondwoman” followed by the “freewoman.” This should begin to sound familiar to you.

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” (Gal. 4:22-26)

The Saviour instructed his disciple that they were to “go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Mt. 10:6-7). A portion of all 12 northern tribes must have been close at hand then and not in far away lands in order for the disciples to carry out the Master’s instructions.

In Paul’s defense before King Agrippa he states that all 12 tribes were currently serving God in Jerusalem in hope of the resurrection:

And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God, unto our fathers: Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.” (Acts 26:6-7)

When the rebuilt temple was dedicated, Ezra tells us that ALL 12 tribes were represented:

And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king. And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy. And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.” (Ezra 6:15-17)

Finally, quoting Josephus he says:

My will is, that Cyrus, whom I have appointed to be king over many and great nations, send back my people to their own land and build my temple.Josephus, Antiquity of the Jews, Book 1, ch. 1:2

A interesting connection is seen in the names of the first two fishermen Yeshua called, Simon Peter (also referred to as Cephas in John 1.42 and Gal. 2:9) and Andrew. Two of the minor constellations in Pisces are Cepheus and Andromeda.

Cephas corresponds with

Andrew corresponds with

As can be seen, the first two disciples Jesus called who were fishermen, share the same root in their names as two of the constellations in Pisces, the Fish. Furthermore, Cephas and Andrew were “brothers”, even as the two fish in Pisces, (i.e., the two houses of Israel), are brothers.

As the two fish were held captive by the bands attached to their tails, so too were Cephus and Andrew both taken captive and died a martyrs death. Before his martyrdom Andrew traveled to the north and became the celebrated and patron saint of Georgia, Ukraine, Scotland and Spain. Whereas Cephus travelled to the east in Asia. The same directions the two fish in Pisces are seen heading.

The Hebrew tribe corresponding to the sign of Pisces is Levi, who’s name means, “joined to.” Just as the two fish (the House of Judah and the House of Israel) are “joined to” each other with bands, or cords.

When Moses descended from Mt. Sinai and saw that the people had corrupted themselves he “stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.” (Ex. 32:26)

In like manner, all of Israel had again “corrupted themselves” in the land of their inheritance and were made to worship and serve other gods in the land of their captivity in Assyria and Babylon.

When Cyrus made the decree setting the captives free throughout his realm, which included the territory of Assyria, all who desired of all 12 tribes of Israel were free to gather themselves together as one nation once again in the land of Canaan.

One last parallel between the tribe of Levi and the sign of Pisces is that just as the two houses of Israel are represented as “scattered” in the land of their captivity, so were the Levites scattered among the 12 tribes of Israel.

In Pisces then we have the story of the recovery of the scattered lost sheep of the house of Israel that were taken captive and scattered into many nations such as we see listed in Acts 2:9-11 during the time of Christ. It was his stated purpose as the Good Shepherd of Israel to deliver his lost sheep. Not from literal bondage or chains, but from spiritual bondage to sin and “chains of darkness.” (2 Pet. 2:4)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” (Lk. 4:18)

Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones. Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria. And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead. In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.” (Jer. 50:17-20)
